Science Technology Engineering Math                                                     

Comparison words:  Fast, faster/slow, slower; heavier/lighter

Force:  a push or pull that is applied to an object
 
Friction:  force created when two objects rub together
 
Gravity: a force that pulls all objects toward the center of the earth
 
Mass: amount of material that makes up an object
 
Motion: the process of changing location or position
 
Newton’s First Law of Motion: an object at rest will stay at rest and an object in motion will stay in motion until a force acts upon it
 
Positional words: in front of, behind, above, below, on, under, away from, close to, between, on top of, towards, away from, right, left
 
Speed: how fast something moves in a given amount of time
 
Velocity: how fast an object is moving (speed) AND the direction in which it is moving.
